SPE/ICoTA MENA Workshop: Coiled Tubing Intervention—Feasible Applications for the Region

Across the Middle East and North African region, wells are being drilled at ever increasing depths and lengths. Wells that several years ago would have been unthinkable to reach with traditional intervention techniques are now becoming the norm, and novel techniques, equipment, tools, and products are being developed and implemented to reach even further. Stimulation and chemical placement continues to drive production recovery in some areas, while the application of Digital Humanities tool technologies and extended reach interventions allows to unlock some well potential. The coiled tubing utilisation is also becoming evident for supporting fracking activity both conventional and unconventional reservoirs.
