Coiled Tubing Engineering

This course provides an introduction to coiled tubing as a tool for intervention operations. It includes an overview of the coiled tubing manufacturing process and the mechanical properties of coiled tubing, as well as discussion of downhole tools and their different functions.

A significant portion of this course covers the mechanical performance of the tubing which includes: stress and force limits, buckling, ballooning and fatigue. Examples of actual fatigue test and well analysis data are used for the comprehensive questions.

This is an advanced course for engineers who want an improved understanding of critical issues related to successful CT field operations.
